G Data has been making antivirus since 1987 and still does things its own way: a dual-engine scanner, development and support entirely in Germany, and a public no-backdoor guarantee. AV-Comparatives rated it top-tier again in its 2025-2026 consumer rounds. The dual engine costs some performance, and the interface will not win design awards.
